Early Years, Reimagined
Kido Rice Village
We are located in Rice Village and are close to Rice University, West U, The Medical Center, Bellaire, and River Oaks. The purpose-built preschool includes premises of 6,500 sq. ft. (with ample parking), an Art Studio, a large outdoor play area with a Splash Pad, and an all-weather indoor play area. We offer Spanish immersion daily, in addition to our English language curriculum.
By parents, for parents
We are owned and operated by a group of parents from all over the world. We were set up in response to our founders’ struggles as young parents in different cities around the world. So, since our first school in Hong Kong in 2014, we’ve been obsessed with two things: improving learning outcomes for children, and our service to parents.
Kido has been amazing with our pre-schooler. We can tell she is learning something new everyday. Communication is great via the Kido parent app. We came from a Montessori school prior and Kido seems to have a somewhat similar education philosophy so our kid had no issue adjusting. When your child refuses to leave school, when you pick them up, you know they are doing something right! Everyone there is super sweet! We are very happy with them so far.

Our experience so far is excellent, transition after almost a year at home due to CoVid was smooth and soon enough my 4 yo said he doesn't want any other day care or school “ever” and that he wants to go to Miss Hayde’s class. I like their activities and curriculum, they have fantastic outdoor area. All the personnel is attentive and nice and respond quickly to any of our questions.
Alfiya, Parent
We’ve had a wonderful experience at Kido thus far. My son has been in Discoverers 2 and 3 and has loved both classes. They send pictures constantly throughout the day of the kids doing a wide variety of activities. They were an integral part of his transition to solids and offer a wide variety of food throughout the day. The Spanish immersion is nice a feature — one of his first words was “agua.” We’ve been extremely happy there and look forward to him growing there for years to come!

My son loves the school!! I am really impressed with how my child has started speaking Spanish in 6 months of him starting at Kido.

FAQs
Some of the things you might want to know. For anything else, just give us a call or enquire, and our parent relationship manager will be on hand to answer any questions you might have!
Kido's COVID Response
In line with the current government guidance, Kido preschools will remain open. We continually adhere to best practices around enhanced cleaning, social distancing, the regular taking of temperatures and maintenance of strict bubbles to limit disruptions in the event of a COVID-19 case.
Our philosophy
The preschool is inspired by Reggio Emilia’s philosophy. Children have the space to find something that encourages them to discover, play and learn in every corner.
We believe that a combination of free and structured play, an engaging and interactive learning environment, and an abundance of love, care and attention provide the most solid foundation for children in the early years.
Food & Nutrition
Your little one needs lots of energy to learn and play. Our healthy, nutritious meals will make sure they've got plenty. We serve breakfast, lunch and a healthy snack too. We also have vegetarian options and are happy to chat about any specific dietary requirements your child might have.
Our People
All of our teachers are formally educated and have a wealth of experience in the childcare industry and a genuine passion for teaching children. We put our heart into it and welcome teachers from different nationalities and cultures.
This along with the 100 hours' internal training is all to ensure we give your child the very best learning and development experience while they're in our care.
Parent Communication
You won't miss a moment of their development. Through our app for parents, you'll get regular updates, pictures and communication from your child's teacher throughout the day. Also during pick-up and drop-off we'll be sure to talk through anything you need to know and answer any of your questions.
