Early Years, Reimagined

Kido Clerkenwell

Clerkenwell is located in Central Street, it is set in a converted church hall, with large outdoor play spaces and a specially designed building for babies – complete its garden. Your children can run, explore and feel completely at home in our bright and airy Clerkenwell branch. The main building houses our toddlers and preschool rooms, with one entire floor given to each age group. The tall windows and skylights ensure natural light all day.

By parents, for parents

We are owned and operated by a group of parents from all over the world. We were set up in response to our founders’ struggles as young parents in different cities around the world. So, since our first school in Hong Kong in 2014, we’ve been obsessed with two things: improving learning outcomes for children, and our service to parents.

We have been extremely pleased with Kido. The facilities are great, particularly the large garden. The amazing staff are very caring and enthusiastic. They create an ever-changing array of educational and fun activities, on interesting and creative themes, including many activities that are far too messy to do at home! The food is nutritious and sounds tasty. The nursery has responded well to the pandemic. They ask for feedback and look to continually improve. It’s great to see the fun that the children are having via photographs on the app and also get other useful updates. We certainly highly recommend the nursery.

Elizabeth K , Parent

Our daughter has been at Kido Clerkenwell for the last two years and we have seen continual and sustained development in that time. We have been very impressed by the quality and creativity of teaching and learning and the level of care is second to none. The teaching staff are incredibly invested in each and every child and build very good bonds with children and parents alike. The facilities are very good, particularly for a central London location.

Beth K, Parent

Fantastic nursery with attentive staff and great facilities my child is very happy and thriving there. I haven’t come across a nursery in London with outside space like it. Staff are always welcoming and adore the children.

    Kido's COVID Response

In line with the current government guidance, Kido nurseries remain open. We continually adhere to best practices around enhanced cleaning, social distancing, the regular taking of temperatures and maintenance of strict bubbles to limit disruptions in the event of a COVID-19 case. Out of hours tours remain available throughout the week.

    Our philosophy

The nursery is inspired by Reggio Emilia’s philosophy. Children have the space to find something that encourages them to discover, play and learn in every corner.

We believe that a combination of free and structured play, an engaging and interactive learning environment, and an abundance of love, care and attention provide the most solid foundation for children in the early years.

    Food & Nutrition

Your little one needs lots of energy to learn and play. Our healthy, nutritious meals will make sure they've got plenty. We serve breakfast, lunch and a healthy snack too. We also have vegetarian options and are happy to chat about any specific dietary requirements your child might have.

    Our People

All of our teachers are formally educated and have a wealth of experience in the childcare industry and a genuine passion for teaching children. We put our heart into it and welcome teachers from different nationalities and cultures.

This along with the 100 hours' internal training is all to ensure we give your child the very best learning and development experience while they're in our care.

    Parent Communication

You won't miss a moment of their development. Through our app for parents, you'll get regular updates, pictures and communication from your child's teacher throughout the day. Also during pick-up and drop-off we'll be sure to talk through anything you need to know and answer any of your questions.
